Biography

Thomas Hogan is a Canadian researcher from Prince Edward Island. He earned his BScE in Mechanical Engineering with a Mechatronics option in 2024 from the University of New Brunswick, where he is currently completing his MScE in Electrical and Computer Engineering with the Sys-MoDEL research group.  His work focuses on the numerical modelling and simulation of wave energy converters, including the development of an open-source tool: The Modelica™ Ocean Engineering Toolbox. Thomas is collaborating with the Centre for Ocean Energy Research at Maynooth University to support the development of hydraulic power take-off models and a co-simulation framework for integrating external control architectures within the toolbox.
