Biography
Michel Barbier is expected to be a graduate of the french general engineering school Ecole Centrale de Nantes in 2018. He enrolled it after two years of intensive post-Baccalaureate studies in engineering sciences. For his second year in the ECN, he has chosen a major of ocean engineering (numerical/experimental hydrodynamics, shipbuilding, sea-keeping, marine renewable energies, among others). As part of this year, he worked on a group project with the french company Bureau Veritas, involved worldwide, to propose a monitoring system for a tidal turbine. This project involved a state of the art of the parameters influencing a tidal turbine and the sensors measuring each of them. Michel is now enrolled in an internship at the Centre for Ocean Energy Research, to work in the field of wave energy in partnership with an Irish company.
