Biography

 

Markel Penalba got the engineering degree with an intensification in energy systems from the Engineering School of Bilbao (University of the Basque Country) in 2013, after completing a research internship on energy storage systems at Technical University Clausthal (TUC), and the master degree in Marine Renewable Energies from the ENSTA Bretagne in 2014. He was an intern at the Marine Energies department in TECNALIA for 8 months, where he worked on the evaluation of the interaction of wave energy converters in arrays and development of array layout optimization tools. He joined the Centre for Ocean Energy Research at Maynooth University as a PhD student, where he works on the design and control of wave-to-wire models for wave energy converters.
