Biography
Collin is a second year mechanical engineering PhD student from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on developing wave energy converter farm models that enable scalable multidisciplinary design optimization. In particular, he aims to make models differentiable while having computation times that scale well with the number of wave energy converters. This summer, Collin hopes to learn from the COER's expertise in wave energy controls and make control calculations more amenable to farm-level optimization. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, scootering, and going to the gym.
