Dr. Tom Kelly
Biography
Dr Tom Kelly is currently a lecturer at Dundalk IT, and is also involved with research in association with the Centre for Renewable Energy at Dundalk IT, as well with COER. He was awarded a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology in 1997. He then worked for a number of years in the semiconductor industry before completing a master's degree in renewable energy systems at Dundalk Institute of Technology in 2010. After spending some time teaching, Tom completed a Ph.D. at Maynooth University in 2018 while a member of COER. Both his masters dissertation, and Ph.D. thesis, focused on the modelling of water energy converters.
His research interests cover all areas of renewable energy, with a particular focus on marine renewables.
